FedEx Office, a world-class provider of convenient,state-of-the-art printing, packing and shipping services andsubsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), in collaboration with FordPro, today announced it is piloting ten Ford E-Transit vans acrossits FedEx SameDay City network as part of the goal to transitionits entire pickup and delivery fleet to zero tailpipe emissionvehicles by 2040 in alignment with the overall fleetelectrification goal for FedEx. FedEx SameDay City is thecompany’s local shipping option, which offers door-to-door deliveryof time-sensitive parcels within hours with real-timenotifications.
The vehicles are being tested in nine markets coast-to-coast toassess performance in different road and weather conditions:Chandler, Ariz., Newark, Calif., Boca Raton, Fla., Clearwater,Fla., Plantation, Fla., Chicago, Ill., Madison Heights, Mich.,Allen, Texas and Frisco, Texas. The Ford E-Transit has a targetedrange of 126 miles on a single charge, making it an ideal vehiclefor local courier delivery. FedEx Office has installed chargingstations dedicated to these vehicles at each van’s home locationand will supplement with remote charging stations in each market asneeded to meet charging needs along courier routes.

FedEx has set an ambitious goal to achieve global carbon neutraloperations by 2040. This goal includes transforming the entireFedEx parcel pickup and delivery fleet to all-electric,zero-tailpipe emissions vehicles by 2040. As part of thistransition, FedEx Office is first to test the Ford E-Transit forFedEx and it help FedEx Office better understand how to transitionto electric transportation operations.
